The FCX24M Range Rover has an ABS hard body and a factory-fitted roof rack, with a sand-yellow Camel Trophy appearance. FMS identifies the model as licensed by Jaguar Land Rover Limited. Those details are relevant if you enjoy the look of a scale vehicle as much as driving it.

A hard body is a construction detail, not proof that the model is indestructible or will outperform another crawler. Mirrors, racks and other scale features deserve care. Keep optional accessories separate from the standard specification: the manufacturer's manual lists additional scale decorations as items available to buy.

Two gears, with a clear purpose for each

FMS fits a two-speed transmission. The manufacturer's description assigns low gear to controlled crawling and high gear to faster driving. That gives you a choice within the same model, but it does not establish a measured top speed or make every obstacle achievable.

Does the FCX24M have portal axles?

No. The official FCX24M manual explicitly states that portal axles have not been used. It describes a metal chassis with solid front and rear axles. The product page also specifies metal bevel gears in those axles.

This matters when comparing listings: FCX24 and FCX24M are not interchangeable model names. Judge this Range Rover by its own configuration. Its quoted 28 mm ground clearance is a measurement, not a guarantee that it will cross every 28 mm obstacle.

Where should you plan to drive?

Consider a low, stable route on a dry floor or another suitable dry surface. As a practical starting point, use modest obstacles and leave room to steer around them. Avoid high edges where a mistake could send the vehicle falling, and keep the route clear of people and pets.

What does RTR leave you to do?

The official package includes the vehicle, transmitter, vehicle battery, USB battery charger, tool bag and manual. The receiver and motor are already installed. You still need four AAA batteries for the transmitter, and the vehicle battery needs to be prepared and charged according to the instructions.
